Getting Started

If you or your child would like to study Matsubayashi-Ryu karate-do or are interested in studying karate or martial arts, we welcome you. Classes are available to students age 4 and older. You need not necessarily be in shape and no martial arts or athletic experience is required; simply come to class with the desire to improve yourself and become a better individual.

We invite you to visit our dojo (training hall) and participate in a complimentary class. Directions and maps to help you find us are located on the Locations page of this website. We ask that you wear loose-fitting workout clothing (we recommend sweatpants or jogging pants and a t-shirt — no shorts, please) and bring water to drink. Please come a few minutes before your scheduled class time to introduce yourself. Also, please demonstrate courtesy by being quiet in the lobby while classes are running, take off your shoes and socks prior to walking on the deck, bow upon entering and exiting the deck and bow to the Sensei and black belt students. If you have any questions, please call us at (513) 265-5484
